U-Verse and FiOS Gain Popularity

It's not just about cable and satellite anymore. Seems like AT&T's U-verse and Verizon's FiOS are finally taking off and getting noticed as viable choices for TV service.

For the first time, both of the fiber-supported services have been included in the J.D. Power study and were ranked pretty high. AT&T's U-verse was ranked highest in customer satisfaction among television providers in three U.S. regions (North Central, West and South) and Verizon's FIOS TV took top honors in the East.

Comparing DTV Converter Boxes

The analog to digital TV switch is right around the corner and it seems like every company under the sun is advertising their converter boxes. So which one is right for you?

I have one HDTV that is ready to go and one analog TV that will need a converter box. As I got ready to buy a converter box I realized there were choices and didn't know which one would be better suited for my needs. So I hit the Internet to do a little research and I found a cool site where you can do a side-by-side comparison. You should check it out at www.cecbcomparison.com.

Recycle Your Gadgets

I had written an earlier blog, Recycle Your Electronics, encouraging all of you to recycle your old electronics instead of just letting them collect in a landfill and leak toxic chemicals into our Earth. Well recently, a friend of mine came across this blog, Deforest Your Life.

You must go check it out because it tells you what organizations will take your used cell phones, CDs, DVDs, PDAs, cell phone accessories, computers, ipods and so much more. Most of the places that accept these items are online so you can simple ship your items to them. With sealing that box and dropping it off at the post office you'll know you have done your part for the environment. You will have stopped toxic chemicals from seeping into the ground and polluting the planet. So start recycling today!

Introducing the New DTV Antenna

Seems like the rabbit ear antennas from yesterday will have some competition come next year. Though the old style antennas will work to get the DTV signal, RCA has come out with a digital antenna they claim will get you better reception.

It is a a new multi-directional flat antenna designed specifically for use with DTV signals. The antenna uses VHF and UHF reception so those days of your arms getting tired while you position the rabbit ear antennas in the perfect position are over.

The flat antenna is also less cumbersome and can be hung or placed on a table. That is perfect for those who like a simple, clean look to there entertainment center.

Check out what else RCA has to say about their new product.
